  1. Hey All,

In my DVD creation would I more successful in creating one main MPEG (of say 4 to 5 small movies) and creating chapters for that one MPEG.

OR let the system define that each movie is a new title and chapters within ...

this is with regards to set top compatibility.

Typically, a title represents a movie and the chapters within it represent the different scenes. I would recommend leaving your MPEG's separate, and therefore let each one be its own title. You're still free to set up chapters within each title (MPEG), if your authoring software supports it.

The problem with putting all of your MPEG's together in one title is that generally speaking, unless your author the DVD otherwise, once the first "movie" plays it will immediately play the next movie (even if its a new chapter) without interruption, or a menu. You have to decide how you want your movies to play.

As far as set top compatibility is concerned, either one of your scenarios would work. But as stated above, I would go with the second option.

  3. Thanks for the feedback

The only reason I had asked was the Kiddie Movies I'm duping to DVD is for playback in our Honda to keep the little ones passive during those long rides.

The honda is very tempermental (sp) when it comes to playback of
DVD-R's and I wanted to see if there is a playback compatibility issue with single vs multple mpeg's.

    Tx TJ
