    You want more details. OK.

1st, tell what format the avi's are (divx, xvid, resolution, framerate, audio format etc).

Then tell me what format you want to convert them to (DVD, VCD, SVCD, XVCD, PAL/NTSC etc)

then I may be able to help.

But I still suggest reading a few guides as a damn good starting point, and quicker than waiting for someone to hold your hand through the whole process.

700 MB full length movie is the problem. You are downloading something based on a disk size and not on any quality setting. The best you can hope for is VCD quality.

Assuming you don't live in the US and what you are downloading is legal (implying there are no legal 700 MB AVI downloads in the US, and there aren't), try bigger movies.

1400 MB AVI's (in 2 pieces no less :P ) are close to DVD quality (for short movies). 2100 MB AVI's are usually DVD quality and typically include an AC3 soundtrack.

It's much, much easier to work from an original DVD than to work from some unknown AVI. Never, ever assume the person that encoded it knew what they were doing. Converting AVI to MPEG2 to DVD requires a lot more tools that converting a DVD to an AVI.
