  1. All of a sudden for some reason, my D; drive is not responding when I put a disk in, and even when I go to my computer and try to open the drive it won't let me, it pops up a window saying... "Unable to access drive D: the drive is locked by a disk utility" What in the world does this mean, and how can I fix it??? The drive is my dvd drive so I can't even watch any movies any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

  2. Hi,

What Operating system do you have?

Do you have disk utility programs running like Norton System works??

  3. *mumbles incoherently at 808smokey's avator*

    it's a Samsung dvd-rom sd-612

I'm running windows me 4.90 if that matters at all (wish i had xp)

I'm not sure if I'm running a disk utility like Norton Systemworks or not (i do have a norton anit-virus program...) How would I go about checking that?

Sorry for the dumb replies but I'm pretty new to all this, thanks!

  4. I hate to say it but any OS besides Windows ME would be a wise investment. I'm willing to bet Millienium is the culprit. If you have Norton utilities or anything it will be in your Start button program list. Also Turn off your restore program. It might have "taken over" to use as backup. Just go to the start button - click run - type msconfig then turn off the programz you don't need and see if that works. A program is messing it up for ya.

That's all I can think of... Sorry 8)
