hi all.
i'm having a real problem with encoding my avi's but have no idea what went wrong............heres the process i was doing before :-
1) i used virtualdub-mp3 freeze to check and delete bad frames
2) i used virtualdub just to see if the vbr window popped up,if so then i saved the audio as a wav
3) i used tmpgenc plus to encode using the saved audio for audio
4) i used tmpgenc dvd author to author the dvd
5) then used nero to burn the vob files.
doing this process worked everytime with spot on results but i did something wrong god knows what but now after i check the avi after encoding the audio is well out probably by about 2-5 mins.
any idea what ive done wrong ??......most probaly ive installed/uninstalled something.
i used gspot and avicodec to find out if it was a codec thing but the avis are supported and it's not just 1 avi i have tried ive now tried 4 different avis all with the same result.
please help me get out of this nightmare !!!
thanks for any reply![]()

like i said befoe all the steps i took gave me perfect results everytime........over 50 dvds i made perfectly...........but its the encoding that is my problem and i dont know why,i'm gonna formate my hard drive and start again to see if that does th trick.
and on step 2 if the vbr message came up when i load in an avi then i had to save it as wav to encode or i would have audio sync problems -
TMPGEnc should not be used for audio encoding as there are much better products out there that give much better results and don't end up in desynchronisation. Take Gazorgan's tip and use goldwave or even HeadAC3He to re-encode the audio after you have it in a WAV file. I'm surprised that you have had flawless results using your method when TMPGEnc is notoriously bad with audio encodes.
If in doubt, Google it.
