  1. I just got myself a dvdr 75, and have copied a few movies from vhs on it to DVD+RW, I never finalised the disk, and ripped it to the HD with dvd decryptor using file mode, I then used tmpg author to redo my own menu, does this method completely remove the philips menu, it doesn't come up when played on a dvd, byt is it hidden somewhere in the structure still.
How do all the other philips lads remove the menu and put them onto there comp to edit.....?
    Any tips for a newbie.

  2. when you include your vob files in TMPG DVD author, you only include your videopart, no menu will be read into the program. The philips menu
    will not be used.
After making menu's and generating the new vob files, you can burn
a video-dvd with them. Only the new menu's will be on that dvd then.

  3. Is it better to extract using file mode than ifo mode??
Any decent guides for dvd standalone editing stuff on a pc.

I stick my RW disc from my Philips into Ulead Movie Factory 2 . I then use it's "Edit Disc" function to replace the Philips menu RIGHT ON THE RW DISC....no need for ripping. The contents of the disc never touch my hard drive.

Pretty silly to do it to a disc with just a movie....but with something like music video compilations?....GREAT tool.

It works best with 1 hour (HQ) mode discs though....sometimes stumbles on 2 hour discs....but not always.
