I THINK THE ISSUE IS COMPATABILITY BETWEEN BURNER..,FIRMWARE..,AND MEDIA USED.

  5. And what you intend playing it back on...

Ruddy hell, I keep saying this but no bugger listens - writing to a disc is only half the story. Will it be readable in the target device ? Now THAT is another matter entirely. Some media will not, no matter what you wrote to it with, ever work on some devices.

I have never found a disc my 04 will not write to, but a great many that won't play back in DVD-ROM's, standalones etc, and one brand that wouldn't even verify in the recorder. You can write on the disc in huge letters with a permanent marker and the DVD player won't be able to read it any better than by changing the speed or writer if the damn thing isn't compatible.

Then there are some players that play -R, not +R, and of those, some will only play -R of certain manufacturers. Fact of life. If your playback device isn't -/+R compatible, then nothing you do regarding the media will make the device play ball. In extreme cases where you are on the fringe you may find one writer has a better write strategy for a disc than another, but if the playback device is that borderline it will not be reliable.

    AND QUIT SHOUTING !!
