  1. I am a newbie and I was recording a TV show with my AIW video card. I am capturing in mpeg-1 format.

I'd like to covert to DVD (mpeg -2) I think...

    What software do I need?

    thanks,
    Mattlock (newbie)

  3. The DVD format supports MPEG1 video. There's some debate about the supported resolution (only 352x240 or 720x480/352x480/352x240) but most people seem able to play MPEG1 video at any DVD resolution.

The DVD standard as a max supported MPEG1 bitrate that's rather low (IIRC ~4000kbit/s) but again many players can handle higher bitrates.

So if you're video is at a supported resolution with 48khz audio you're pretty much good to go.

    .
Actually its even lower than that, 1.856MBps according to https://www.videohelp.com/dvd. So you probably want to keep the resolution down to 352*240/288 anyway even if higher resolutions do play on your DVD player.
