When converting my dv files to vcd, I'm getting vertical lines. It's not that noticeable until the camera pans right or left. I got rid of it by deinterlacing it, but the picture isn't as sharp. I'm using the panasonic plugin in premiere 6.0. Is there any way to get rid of this besides deinterlacing? I definitly prefer pana to tmpeg for vcd, especially audio. Any help appreciated. Thanks

The interlacing artifacts only show up when you view the video on a computer monitor (because the PC monitor is progressive scan, not interlacing scan), but when you view the video on a TV monitor, the artifacts will be gone. If you want to view the video on a PC monitor only, then you have to deinterlace. There are several different ways of deinterlacing, check out the filters for this in Vdub.

I wish that were true. It definitely shows up on both the comp and tv. It's not even noticeable until the camera pans to the right or left. I wish i could describe it better. Anybody else had this problem?
