Hi, this is my first post here.
I have bought this TV card, Pixelview PlayTV HD, with CX23883PL, and I have tried lots of capture programs, which include: DScaler (IMO the best for watching TV), VirtualDub, VirtualVCR, WinDVR, PowerVCR, ChrisTV, Capturex, and others.
So far, from those I've tried, the one that seems to have the best capture quality is iuVCR, actually it was the only one besides DScaler that could capture AVI at full 720x480, but DScaler isn't very good for capturing.
The most annoying problem with iuVCR is the fact that I just can't get it to work with NTSC. First, the program always starts in PAL-M, no matter how the card is configured. OK, then I just go and change to NTSC, then the preview works fine, but as soon as I press the record button it's automatically changed back into PAL-M. I've tried everything, but still doesn't work.
Also, whenever I run it and then another program with uses WDM, like VirtualVCR for example, it will also be set to PAL-M, then I have to change to NTSC again. And I can't use VirtualVCR because it will only capture at 320x240, I don't have any idea why though.
This is pretty bad, because basically all my sources are NTSC, the only one that allows me to choose is the DirecTV decoder, while the others don't give me such a choice.
So basically I can't capture stuff in a decent resolution in AVI. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
And yes, I'm using updated card and WDM drivers.
Thanks
