  1. I`ve been trying to burn back-ups of my xbox software with little sucsess.

    I`m using the following hardware/software.

I have an Xbox with the Philips drive.

A Lite-on LDW 4516 DVD drive with the latest b6 firmware.

Nero 6 (but also have Alcohol 120,clone dvd and copy to dvd) prefer to use Nero 6

    Datasafe media -r * 4 (ritek)

I`ve copied xbox games but the xbox drive will load about 20% of the time. They seem to load better when

the xbox has been in use (ie warmed up) on genuine non-copy titles.

The xbox ALWAYS loads original titles so its obviously something to do with the copies.

I think its mainly a compatible media problem but I chose the DATASAFE -r (ritek) disks because they seemed

    a good console choice.

Does anybody know which PHILIPS drive the XBOX uses and then maybe I can find suitable media for it.

Should I try using dvd+r`s or recording at as slow a speed as possible?

Sorry to ramble on a bit... this is my first post...but it could cost me a fortune in blank media trying to find a
    suitable one.

sorry if this is in wrong section.

    Any help please.

    Cheers

If so are you do a straight Disc to Disc copy?

  6. Are you trying to do games or dvds? I don't get it. If dvds you have to select force xbox compatibility mode in Nero. Use the rright media for your writer.

You cannot copy xbox games *directly* they are in Xfat format.

"Is BULKPAQ Orange a princo disc? "

We call those Bulkcrap as they have no quality control. Get some decent media & save yourself hours of time just trying to save a few pennies.

  7. I`m trying to back up games that are already `copied`.
Basically because there not totally reliable at loading.
Most are on Bulkpaq Orange or Datawrite Classic(yellow).

Is Nero the `best` copying software(for my purposes) or would you recommend something else?

I`m not using the XBOX at all for DVD films.Although I have succesfully
    backed up Dvd`s using DVDSHRINK.

  8. you need create a proper iso use craxtion, nero uses a off set UDF format, also use dvd-r's stay away from +r's. check out xbox-scene.com forums and read the guides. also make sure your xbox clock is set to the correct time and date and not the system zero time. titles like GTA wont load when your date time has been reset.
