  1. hi everyone! i've been having some trouble converting divx to dvd with surround to play on my standalone, the problem is that i can only get ac3 or ac3 5.1 2 channels stereo. Well i'm going to describe to you the way i do it so you can see where i'm doing wrong or maybe missing something. To start whether the divx has ac3 audio or not i always extract it with virtualdub to a Wav file, then i convert it with ac3machine or beesweetgui to ac35.1 6 channels(i think), then i mux it with the video using Nandub, so far so good, i end up having a very nice divx with ac3 audio. (When i open this new divx ac3 audio with virtualdub to see file information, virtualdub will report that audio is ac3 2 channels stereo.. Why?? i just converted it to ac3 5.1 6 channels...). now with this new divx ac3 audio i use virtualdubmod to demux the audio and save just the ac3 audio because next i'll convert only the video with tmpgenc. when this is done i use tmpgenc dvd author and i open the converted video (MPG) and the ac3 audio that i demuxed before. after this i get a dvd movie with no sound at all... what have i missed??? what have i done wrong?? i would really love to watch my films with surround on my standalone... Can anyone help me please?? my standalone has surround system... thanks!!!

You can't convert stereo audio to 5.1 with besweetgui.

And it is no point to convert to 5.1 because where will you get the extra channels from?? they doesn't exists. Leave it as stereo, and if it is dolby prologic you will get some surround audio.
