is there a way to frameserve in main concept encoder?

usally i frameserve with virtualdub in tmpgenc.
i want to try something else.... i have a xvid file with ac3.
i want to use mainconcept encoder because tmpgenc dont accept the ac3 audio file,and mainconcept accept it...
i dont want to extract the ac3 file to wav or something else...
so i tell you wath i did
i frameserve subtittle's with virtualdub in mainconcept....and i get a green picture
is there a way to do this...or wath settings i have to use....
i did the file (xvid with ac3)...without frameserving and everthing is perfect
so there is no problem with xvid codec

You could try AviSynth as a frameserver - that should work.

Are you sure Mainconcept encodes Ac3 directly? I thought I tried it once and although it appeared to encode the result was unplayable.

I was able to frame serve to a demo of Mainconcept 1.4 using VirtualDub... I just gave the frameserve file an .avi extension instead of the default .vdr.... It worked fine...

If you want to try another encoder otherthan TMPGEnc then why not try CINEMA CRAFT ENCODER ?

I say this because CCE BASIC is only about $70 USD yet it is often times considered the best MPEG encoder out there.

Something to consider especially since MainConcepts is about twice as much as CCE BASIC

I think I missed the obvious earlier - if you install the Ac3 ACM decompressor then VirtualDub should work as a Frameserver to TmpgEnc.

Could be proved wrong though
