I captured VHS tape and audio is mono appears
only in one channel. I have plenty of other tapes I want to capture
and looking for advise - what tools can duplicagte audio to both
channels without going thru much hassles.

Load the the captured video into Gold Wave. Select New-->Stereo-->Proprer sampling rate-->and length equal to the video. Select OK.
This will bring up a blank video file. Copy the original video and selct the new video. In the new video select Edit-->Mix.
Save the new video as a wave, it will now consist of your old audio from your original video in stereo format.Hello. -
You can separate the audio from the video, but actually making the mono into stereo, I have no idea.

demux file
run soundforge -> new file (stereo 48kb bla bla bla.)
load de-muxed audio into sound forge - select all of track and paste into new stereo file (twice, 1 in each channel) save new file, remux!!!. -
To save time with future captures, you could get your self an RCA Y Adapter and split the audio.

Some capture cards have only one audio in channel, and some programs only capture in mono.
