DRU-500a 2.0f to 2.0h ... To Flash or Not?

My DRU-500a has Firmware 2.0f ... I was just wondering whether or not to flash it to 2.0h or stay at 2.0f.
Just curious what peoples opinions and experiences on this are?

Follow the instructions to the letter and you won't have any trouble. I did mine the other day but haven't noticed any improvements yet.

I must have flashed my DRU500A more than a dozen times. Not always to newer versions of f/w but to older as well. There were times when certain f/w versions agreed with certain DVDR brands.

I have also flashed 2.0h to see if that would let it again write to TDK 4x DVD-Rs and 4x DVD+Rs, but no luck. Still burning at 2x and 2.4x.

I will perhaps try 1.0d again.

You shouldn't have any problems, but I wouldn't expect any benefit as well.

With 2.0f I'm able to burn TDK 2x DVD-Rs at 4x! But I'm burning Fuji 4x DVD+Rs at 2x. Go figure. I was wondering if flashing to 2.0h would let me burn the Fuji's at 4x. Though, I'm worried that I might lose 4x on the TDK's.

I'm burning my 4x TDK at 4X with the upgrade but it would before too.

I'm still using 2.0c that my Sony DRU500AX came with. Burned 4X then and burns 4X now.

Your TDK 2X are Ritek G04's most likely, was recently informed on this.

These are, and always will be rated 4X. Don't worry about losing it.
