I just wonder if my DVD burner should be the master or slave??? Or does it not matter???

Master.
ICBM target coordinates:

It should be onn a different buss from the one you feed it data from, master/slave means nothing.
If you cap/rip to C:\, render to C:\, DVDRW should be on the other cable.
If you cap to C:\, render to a drive on the other cable, Master would be D:\, then the DVD-RW should be on IDE0 or 1, depending on how your MoBo mfg names them, the other one, anyhow, as Slave.
Basicallly, one device on one channel talking to one device on the other channel provides a continual flow of data.
Two devices on one channel take turns, interrupt each other, to say "I have all the data I can hold, please wait till I write it down", "Ok, send me more".
