  1. I downloaded the newest version of Besweet at doom9, while reading the guide for going audio conversion. However, it seems that Besweet does not support ac3 audio conversion anymore, becasue anytime I try to convert the audio it give me an error saying ac3eng is not supported anymore due to its suckiness. So this really makes all those guides useless....

Fortunatly, I searched the forum and found ffmpeg and a front end gui that did the job perfectly!!! So easy that a four year old could do it!!!

This brings up and important point. I have been playing around with video conversion for so long, but the hard part of learning how to convert is not that the programs are not any good, but it take such a long time to sift through all of the information that is really useless...or based upon programs that are not really good at all.

MESSAGE TO NEWBIES....To do almost any conversion all you need is (not including burning and ripping): 1) virtualbub, 2) avisynth, 3) TMPGenc, 4) ffmpeg. PERIOD!! Forget about anything else....

    Just my two cents....

  3. Here's my current non-ATI setup, which has worked well for the last few dozen discs...

    Capture with WinDV
    Edit with VirtualDub
    Frameserve to TMPGEnc
    Author with DVD-lab
    Burn with DVD-lab

I'm a PCM guy, and I use MP2 when necessary. Never had compatibility issues so far!

  4. I haven't had a problem with BeSweet. But I am quite certain that my version is not the latest. However, I will give ffmpeg a try.
