  1. OK...still learning this (1 week already) and come this problem when making VCD (NTSC);

    - Video source: directly from DVD (NTSC) it plays OK.
    - Ripping: used SmartRipper without problems.

    - DVD2AVI: when preview (F5), I noticed that FRAME TYPE jumpping between PROGRESSIVE and INTERLACE non stop. VIDEO TYPE is FILM 99% and FRAME is 29.970fps. Is this normal???

    I went ahead and got 2 files D2V and WAV.

    - TMPGEnc: I loaded one of the Template for VideoCD(NTSC) and didn't change any settings. Encoded for about 10 mins for testing.

    When playback, nothing wrong with Sound except that the Picture keeps shaking (lots) after few sec.

    I'm not very good with words so hope people understand.

    ----Many thanks

  2. What movie?

    Also when using dvd2avi did you use force film?

    Also I would recommend getting vfapi, create a vfapi project in dvd2avi, then convert it in vfapi (gives you a psuedo avi file you can watch in a divx player). Then you can open up windows media player and play the vfapi file to see if the video is right so far (so you don't waste time encoding).

  3. - I didn't use FORCE film.

    I think there's something wrong with the source video or when DVD2AVI is used. I spent whole day yesterday to try to fix it but no luck. I even switched to SVCD but still the picture keep shaking.

    The DVD is Spy Kids and it plays perfectly on my DVD player few days ago.

  4. I've heard from several people on the forum that if your movie has all this jumping then you should change the Odd and Even Fields in TMPGEnc, see if that helps you.

  5. You may need to change the odd and even fields as mentioned above, but first I would try this.

    If you are using dvd2avi and the film is above 95% film then you can always just use force film. Otherwise you may need to do ITVC.

    I think if you just use force film with dvd2avi that'll fix your problems. If it doesn't then you should trying doing IVTC (inverse telecine). If you've never done that let me know and I can post a quick post on how you can go about doing that in tmpg or there might be a faq on it here, or something.

    hope using force film works for you,
