  1. I've used TMPGEnc to convert the AVI/xvid to mpeg1, but when I do this it will not take the audio portion, so i used VirtualDub and avi2wav to exact the wav file (which was sucessful) but TMPGEnc still would NOT take the wav file from this xvid..........really frustrating...does anyone know what I can do or maybe another audio exacting program is can use? it says the audio is ac3 (0x2000).

  2. First, get an AC3 filter.
See if you still have the same problem, because TMPGEnc should do the audio at the same time as video, without having to separate, then rejoin them.

  3. TmpGenc will not convert Ac3 to anything.

    Several solutions.

    1) Use Headac3he to convert the Ac3 to wav or mp2.
    2) Load the avi file into goldwave and save as wav (needs the Ac3filter installed 1st)
    3) Load the Ac3 into BeSweet and convert to wav or mp2
    4) If making a DVD, use the Ac3 file as is, just dont load it into tmpgenc but do load it into your authoring program along with the video.
