I have a copy of the Rugby World Cup final but the file is HUGE. I want to burn this onto a DVD and I used TMPGenc to convert it. TMPGenc did about half of the file then told me that I had used about 12 Gig of memory to do this. I have split it into 3 parts and have 3 Svcd's. Question.. Can I sucessfully get the original avi file onto a DVD or will I have to copy the 3 Svcd's onto a DVD?
Grateful for any responses. Cheers

Yes. The size of an mpeg file depends on the bitrate used to encode it and the playing time. Use a bitrate calculator (here) to see what bitrate you need. If the required bitrate drops below approx 3500kbs, I would reccomend using 1/2 D1 resolution (325*480/576) instead of full D1 (720*480/576). or split it across two DVD's (main game one one and extra time, celebrations, interviews etc on the other perhaps).Originally Posted by the grey fox
