  1. Hi

For a long time I've used DVD Decrypter to rip the DVD and then DVD Shrink to compress them - it's always worked perfectly.

Now I've tried the same thing with the (German) DVD of Legally Blonde 2 but it continues to give me this error at about 15%.

DVD Shrink has encountered an error and cannot continue.
The error is : Programming error - exception occurred. The reason is : unknown.

Does anyone know what to do or are there good alternatives to DVD Shrink who allow you to compress a DVD9 to ONE DVD5 ?

    Thanks for your help !

Which version of Shrink are you using? Some are having problems with the newer versions. Try an older version before you give up on it!

  3. I'm using the DVD Shrink 3.0. Beta 5 version.

  4. I've used Nero Recode with AnyDVD for this movie to disable the Full Screen version. Kept all menus, extras and widescreen. Have you tried that?

Did this DVD have widescreen and fullscreen? If so, you don't need to transcode it. Use this guide.
