The video part of our OGM files has been encoded with XviD, and the audio part has been encoded with Ogg Vorbis.

If you can play it with MplayerOSX you should be able to convert it with the many apps that use mencoder

    ffmpegx for example

download and install the latest version of Mplayer... i believe i have gotten .ogm files to work on there before.

Once you have Mplayer installed, confirm that it will play your file, then post back and I can help you with this.

Probably because the ogg vorbis audio could not be decoded. Try this: Select the vcd quick preset. Under the audio tab in ffmpegx select passthrough, uncheck encode audio and make sure keep elementary streams is checked in the options tab.
Download the Ogg Vorbis Quicktime component here: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/13012 and open the file created by ffmpeg in quicktime. Export it to .wav or .aiff and then go back to ffmpeg. Open up the new quickitime file and convert it to mp2 audio.
Mux it with the mpeg1 video in the tools section and then author the files as a vcd. Burn.

    HTH

I now wait for the gurus to post an easier way of doing this...

well... first of all, i'd like to thank all of you for your support!

i've downloaded the mplayer osx2 latest version (b6 i believe), and the file now plays without any drama... first problem solved!

i dont have many app for conversions so i used ffmpeg for my purposes. as told before i couldn't make it to vcd, but then i thought why not trying to svcd, and it worked... the ffmpeg progress started to do the conversion, i don't know why but at some point failed, cause it said that couldn't find the mpa file (i believe .mpa is some kind of audio file)... conclusions...practically i just were i started, i cannot make any conversions.

ok zero six, i'm confirming that i can play the file, i'llbe very grateful if you can give a hand with this matter.
and pixeljammedia... i'll give it a try to your suggestions and i'll post back with the results. (i', already downloading what you told me and i'll install it as soon as i get home)
    thanks all of you
