  1. Can I make a menu with chapters and use it at a later time when im done encoding the mpeg-2 dvd file?

    I just feel like its a whole lot of pressure making the menu with chapters when i load the mpg, id like to make it, save it, and perhaps edit it at a later time, and when i have my mpeg file ready i just load the menu with chapters and author? is this possible?

    what authoring program are you using? DVD Lab allows you to export the menus to a file and save them separately from the project...

    don't know... I haven't really used other progs, DVD Lab does 95% of what I need, so I haven't looked at other progs too much.

  5. Tmpeg Author allows you to save your menu as a templete.

    You should also be able to save the project and use it with different video files

    PS. I have just started using DVDlab and would recommend using that instead of Tmpeg Author. DVDlab is very flexible

  6. Ok will do thnxs.... one last thing, is it possible to make somewhat of chapters and leave like the image empty, and then when I load the mpg file i can just clip a frame from the video and add it to my emtpy chapter menu? that way its more easier for me?....

    ---> EXAMPLE <----
    ================

    I create a menu with lets say 6 chapters, which of those 6 are six empty squares waiting for a pic to be replaced and overlapped to accomidate the chapter (Round 1 for boxing) or (hogan vs hart for boxing), and when loading the mpg file i simply scroll to the desired frame of the movie, hit copy frame and just output it to the chapter of my desire, would that be possible?

    Yes seems vey complicated but i guess if someone out there knows let me know thnx

    DVD Lab supports this - you can easily drag & drop a frame from the preview window to a menu, and it will align & size it to the menu frame.

    you can replace images that easily as well - for example, you can make a dummy/placeholder menu with the wrong images, and then just drag and drop the images you like....

    sometimes the best image for a particular chapter isn't the frame that the chapter starts on, so after DVD Lab makes chapter menus, I'll find a better image in that chapter, and drag it into the menu - quick and easy.
