I see that in the eyes of many here , DVD X Copy is looked at as overpriced junk. I tend to see it quite differently. Here's why:
I do agree that DVDXCopy doesn't allow for much customization, and there are better programs out there that are cheaper, or free. However, in my opinion DVDXCopy is the easiest way for someone to make a backup copy of a DVD.
You see, many of us here know quite a bit about computers. We may not know a lot about authoring/ripping/capturing, etc.. but we do know a lot about computers. For us, because we're comfortable with computers and software in general, it makes sense to use tools which are a little harder to learn but produce better and more cost effective results.
What we sometimes fail to realize is that there are a lot of people out there who are either not experienced or not comfortable with using computers. For there people, they'd much prefer a tool that was really easy to use and relatively quick, even if it meant giving up some control over the output and paying some extra money.
For example, if my grandmother told me that she wanted to start making backup copies of her dvds, I'd probably buy her this software and give her a ten minute lesson. She wouldn't want to worry about a quantinization matrix, and she wouldn't be able to distinguish a 5 percent difference in picture quality. The warning on the beginning of the DVD wouldn't bother her either.
Also, people criticize 321 Studios for adding all of the protective measures (preventing copies of copies, the warning, etc..) but you have to understand that it wasn't really their choice. They released a product which could be used for illegal purposes, and whether it's fair or not they needed to take steps to curb illegal use (they saw what happened to napster).
Anyway, this is my opinion. I don't work for 321 Studios or anything like that, I just wanted to say what I was thinking.

its all up to the users. i have never used dvdxcopy and i dont think i would ever will. dvdshrink and other FREE softwares out there is much better then dvdxcopy. It doesnt take a scientist to understand how to use dvdshrink. shrink is very easy to use. i just dont understand why people out there that are willing to spend $$$ on dvdxcopy.
