I'm posting this Q on behalf of a friend - he's at his wits end and is waiting for his acc to be created here.

I am trying to back up a disc using PINNACLE instant copy,
the disc plays fine in all of my players, but when I try to copy it it gets to 44% then stops and tells me "Access violation at address 10003b00 in module 'vobsrc.ax' read of address 0000000"
Have tried decrypting the disc and copying it to my hard drive and then
burning it, but I get errors on all!

    Can anyone shed some light?

    Thanks

  2. I have pointed this out a couple of times that Instant Copy does not author properly. There is some of of mismatch between the ifo files and bup files. i have tried to rip back ups that are made by IC by other software, such as DVD Decryptor, SmartRipper, DVD Shrink, DVD2One, or DVD ToolBox. None of them can do it.

The only way you can made a second backup from the first backup is to use Instant Copy itself.

  3. PS - Even if you copy the files on the back up disk to the hard dive by using Windows Explorer, when it comes to burning those files with Nero, or RecordNow, it failed in the their DVD compatibility tests and you can't burn them properly. The only way is to use IC again and make a second backup.
