  1. What tool do you guys recommend for removing popping/crackling noises from an AC3 file??

    On a somewhat related issue, I created my AC3 file using DVD2AVI. Anything I can do with DVD2AVI to not get the popping and crackling?? The original VOB file doesn't have the noise.

  3. I'm guessing you are extracting the ac3 from a vob file in DVD2AVI.

    What settings are you using for the audio (give detailed info from the audio menu)

    are you selecting a 48->44.1kHz downmix?

    That is correct that I'm extracting AC3. Here are my settings:
    - Audio->Output Method->Demux(AC3, MPA, DTS)
    - Dynamic Range Control is default (normal)
    - Dolby Surround Downmix is selected (but have unselected it with the same result)
    - 48->44.1kHz is OFF since I'm eventually putting this on DVD

    Thanks for any help!

    It could be the .AC3 codec that you have on your computer. DVD2AVI doesn't do anything except demux the file from you VOBs (with your settings).

    If you are listening to the audio and it pops, back up a few seconds to see if it pops again in the same place. Onboard audio "cards" also will pop once in a while.

    If it were the AC3 codec, wouldn't the problem exist when I play the VOB files directly on my PC??????

    What AC3 codec do you suggest I install??
