  1. Hi there.

I'm new to this and I was just wondering if anyone out there could
steer me in the right direction.

I have a Sony Vaio with DVD burning capability and I've used
Roxio to make some DVD's before.

However with the 4.7gb per disc I feel I get shorted sometimes on space.

For example I'll have a 700mb file I'd like to burn and it takes up more
than 4.7gb on the burning program. Or I'vr "shrunk" (??) that file
using Tnmpeg and a 500mb file takes up 3.6 gb.

Is there anything I can do here to get more efficiency?

Lower the bitrate to make it fit.

  3. How does one lower the bitrate?

How does that affect size and picture quality?

If using TMPGEnc, go to video tab in settings and adjust the bitrate there.
