I think you should add in the Media type

    VCD
    SVCD

I also think you should add it so, if i choosed "Other" as my last media type, when i go back to add another movie it will be the one i chose before.

  4. oixx, very nice prgram, if I may say so myself.

one thing though, in the next version, can you somehow make it so that it also states the length of the film?

that would make it so much better (even though it already is quite excellent)

I made it because I couldn't remember which movies I've allready burned. It's also great if your friends want to borrow a movie from you. They can see your movies and you can keep track of who borrowed what movie.
Also, making it possible to index your movies makes it easier to find them in your case or bookshelf.

i cant download it cause windows keeps asking me who the author is?
I've never heard about this before, maybe if you be more specifc maybe I or someone else can help.

I'll look into your feature requests.

    Thanks for trying my program.

    Best regards, David

    I got it too.
    The message reads something close to;
Windows can not open this file.
    File: omd_0_9_8[1]rar
To open this file windows needs to know what program created it.
Then it goes on to give you the opitions 1) to look on the net, or 2) pick from a list of programs that are on your computer.
I get this message alot, I have 2 XP computers. I also tired the first 3 downloads.

Yea the .NET framework is a bitch, nothing I can do about it. I just hope it gets included in the next windows XP service pack.
Although you might find it on your windows XP install CD. Just insert the disc in your drive and you should have the option, "Install .NET framework", at least my version have that.

btw, a new version is out now!

    Enjoy, best regards, David.

a lot of programs require the net frame work - as even some video drivers now (matrox) ..

installing it never seemed to mess anything up - so what the heck ..

don't know why its 20meg though .. because installation only takes like 10 sec's

  12. oixx, installing the net framework creates a limited user account which does not show up on the welcome screen in XP. Before I installed the net framework the only account was the main administrator account so XP started straight up without having to select my administrator account on the welcome screen. I now have to select my account to log onto XP which is no problem, the problem is that after about 20 mins or so with no activity I am automatically logged out and I cannot see where to disable this. How do I stop XP from logging me out.

  13. Check to see if your PC goes to standby automatically after x minutes. If so it goes to that first screen (never happened before because you only had one 'User' in your network). Right click your desktop, go to properties, Screensaver tab, Monitor power, Power button. Turn system standby to Never or change the amount of time to a longer time frame.

    Hope that helps.

Meant to say...Great program thanks for the work. Got a phone call and ended up posting the above. Didn't mean to get off topic.

  14. System standby, hard discs and monitor are set to never and the power scheme is set to always on. I have had multiple users in the past and XP has never logged out automatically, it just seems to do it with this net framework installed.

To get rid of the login screen, use TweakUI for XP, at MS site, one of the powertoys, you can enable autologon.

BTW, nice prog oixx. What is the index field for?
Maybe you can add different HTML layouts, like a columned page, and other designs. And it would be nice to have some HTML options built in to the html export dialogue, more convenient.

Good luck on the development of this program.

  16. What is the index field for?
I have put small stickers with index numbers on all my movies. This way I can search for a movie with the application and then by looking at the index number easily find the right movie from my book shelf.

Tried to check it out but WinRAR kept saying it was corrupt:

Is there some reason you have it in .RAR instead of .ZIP format?

  21. Dont know if this is a problem for others, probably not, but I think a cool feature to add would be a button to randomly select a movie. Sometimes I want to watch a movie but I have so many good ones to choose from. This would fix that problem. Also, I think there may be some sort of bug. When it gets the movies that have the and(&) sign in the title it give this for the and "&" maybe it is just me, look up lilo and stitch and try it out. And I havent been able to the the imdb rating search to work, rest of the searches work though. Another cool feature would be if it could pull the tagline, plot outline or actors from imdb and then maybe be able to search by actors?

    So lets see thats:

    1. Random movie selector
    2. The (&) title bug
    3. Imdb rating search
    4. Tagline, plot outline or actors included from imbd
    5. Search by actors

    Hope thats not too much.

  23. Thanks for the great feedback tgm4883!

The random select button was a pretty funny idea, I'll think about. I don't have that many movies yet myself.

I know that the '&' makes the parsing go crazy
I will fix this as soon as I can.

Since I don't like to know anything about a movie before I see it, I probably won't add plot outline. I have even requested imdb to put it further down on their page so I wont see it by mistake

I'll probably add actors and director search.

    Have fun!

  24. Ohh I know a great one feature to place in it. When you open the program it should automatically open the last database open. I ran into the ID10T error and added 1 quick movie the other day and overwrote my whole database, so now i have to reinput the whole thing

  25. I've just completed my masters degree in computer science so I had some time to update OMD!

Sorry about your lost db tgm4883 .
So just for you , omd now automatically opens the last opened file.

I've also fixed(?) the parsing problems you guys told me about, thanks for supporting.

Have fun, and please tell me what sux

    Regards, David.
