  3. very nice.. i've tried other movie database programs and they're kinda bloatware.. they have like a bajillion fields to enter data in to..

this one is nice and simple..

This program is released as freeware. Just download and run, no cracks required
    nice, heh.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you liked it. I will try to add this feature. Maybe also to print it directly...

wow man thanks alot. ive been looking for a good simple program to catalog my movies. i really like the export to html so i can put my list on my website once i get it running. like jeex said, a text output with just titles would be nice, so when my friends ask me what movies i have, i can just give them a list.

one question though, is there a way to sort the movies on the main window? right now they are in the order that i put them in. i would like to have them in alphabetical order or something.

hmm. i didnt notice they werent in alphabetical order.. i only added a couple.. but that would be a very nice feature.. i really really like the fact that you can get the picture & some of the movie info from imdb instead of having to manually enter it.

this is the first effort, it only needs a couple of features and it would be as perfect as i could think.. not to mention its free

  10. Hello people,

thanks again for feedback, the alphabetical sort was a great idea, I'll start implementing as soon as I can. The same goes for the "only title html/text listing"

Nice app, I organised my films using a SQL database and then allow people to view the list by hosting a web server at home.

Beauty of this is that having your own server is pratically unlimited web space and you can program your site to do whatever you want.

    have a look at

    http://www.perez.me.uk/movies/index.htm

    and see what you think

    Any comments welcome!

  13. This is pretty cool!

I wrote a web based asp app like this a while back, but this one is pimp

What would be cool is if you were to use xml tags in the database so that someone could write a front end web site and connect to the xml file and use it as a live data source The export to html is pretty cool, but I'd like to be able to customize the look more. Or maybe even just an "export to XML" That would be cool too

  16. Hello people!

I have just released a new version of my movie database, omd at http://www.geocities.com/blue_s0ft/omd/index.html.

The movie list is now alphabetical sorted, furthermore is it now possible to customize your exports to html and text format.

    I hope you like it!

I found a little bug on the export to html and in the main app. The thumbnails are referenced to the root folder instead of the img folder.

  21. About the corrupt file.
I renamed the file from .rar to .zip, because geocites forbids .rar files.
I think this could be the reason for the corrupt archive.

The zip file is now removed so go ahead and try the rar files.
There are also two mirror sites.

    Enjoy!

  23. I wrote my own parser to create a delimited text file which I have imported into an SQL database. Now I can make it look any way I like easily

    http://www.thayne.us/movies/

I'm still working on it to make it more automated

Well I've been thinking of a color chooser in the application...
Right now you could just do a search for the word bgcolor in the html file, and change the hex value to your prefered color.

Also, don't forget to copy your img directory to your website so the pictures will be visible.
