  1. I'm making a project in DVDit PE using some clips from a bought DVD and from a DVD+R recorded on a philips DVD recorder.

Problem is that 3 of the clips are in 4:3 aspect ratio and 1 is in 16:9. DVDit PE does not allow you to mix aspect ratios (since the project is set to PAL 4:3, MPEG2 (DVD Compliant)).

So my question is whats the quickest/best way to convert this 28min MPEG2 file from 16:9 to 4:3?

At present I'm just planning to do a re-encode using TMPGenc.

    Any help appreciated,

    Thanks,

    NiVZ.

Or use tmpgenc dvd author or dvd-lab 1.4+ and you can mix aspect ratios(different tracks/titles).

If you still want to use dvdit you must reencode(adding black borders), tmpgenc is probably the easiest way.

  3. well if your 16:9 is a separate clip, try tmpgenc dvd author it has a free 30 day trial and will let you add tracks with different aspect ratios..

edited to add: yeah baldrick just beat me to the punch

  4. Thanks for the amazingly fast responses guys. Think I'll stick to TMPGenc and DVDit just now as I know what I'm doing with them.

I'll have to have a look at TMPGenc DVD soon though.

Thanks again. I'll get it re-encoded tonight ;o)
