  1. I recently ripp a DVD using Stefy's guide. I made the ripp to vcd format and burned it using Nero. Everything runs great, but the video looks squeezed making the actors in the movie seem thin and tall. In Smartripper, it lists the DVD as 4:3 ratio. How can I fix this?

(I am using Smartripper, DVD2AVI, and TMPGE.)

Go to the newbie forum or do a search for "aspect ratio" and Tmpgenc and see what you find.
I just posted about this a couple of days ago..

  3. Before you do anything else... does the aspect ratio look wrong on your TV as well?

S/VCD do not use square pixels (e.g., your PC monitor) so if they are played back on your PC at 100% and not in full screen (or with a player that doesn't adjust the aspect ratio), then people can look tall and skinny with PAL movies. This is normal.
