I want to try to fool someone into thinkin that a scene from a divx movie is from my personal camcorder home video. I tried a few filters in Virt.Dub, but I cant seem to get the right effect. how can I make a divx movie look slightly grainy, off colour, blurry like a home video? I have VirtualDub, and Adobe Premeire at my disposal.

Odd request. Most people want to IMPROVE videos. So no big deal, just do everything in reverse.
Add noise, shift color with the hue control, messing with red or blue a little can really screw up skin tones and there are any number of blur filters to pick from. For final effect either push contrast way up or down and you should get a amateurish look. -
Get CineLook for After Effects. It does a great job at making video look like old 8mm film. There's a bunch of settings, too.
