I used DVD Lab to open up preexisting .VOB files from a dvd because i wanted to reedit the menus and chapter points of the DVD. the previous DVD had VOB files VTS_0_01 to 04, but it also has .IFO files and .BUP files..those are what i open to play the DVD in my computer as if i were playing it on a DVD, etc.
So i reedited those VOB files, made new menus and chapter points, etc, and did a compile DVD and let it run. After it finished i came back to my computer and I see that there are 9 .VOB files, VTS_0_01 to 09...the first one is about a gigabyte, the second is about 71 megabytes, and the rest are 0 kb...there are no .IFO files, nothing. Those files are in the VIDEO_TS folder, thers an AUDIO_TS folder with nothing in it
What the hell happened to my menus? my new chapter points? The entire DVD...what the hell did it do? Wheres the DVD i created?
YOU DONT NEED TO READ THE ABOVE, READ THE EDIT, ABOVE IS JUST BACKGROUND INFO.
Edit:
Ok I tried it again, and this time i sat by the computer, it gave me an error saying that the source files were incompatible and couldnt be used and i should try to demultiplex them, so thats what mustve happened last time.
So i opneded the .dal file again, and this time, when it gave me the options to open the .VOBs with or without demultiplexing, i chose to demultiplex them. So after i do that, it gives me errors, 3 errors saying "To Demux VOB Title Sets -> Drag the first VTS_XX_1.VOB to Asset Bin"...but then aboce that another error says "Cant open file C:\My Documents...\VIDEO_TS\ VTS_01_1.VOB"
I dont know why that happens or what any of this means about the files im trying to use or what i need to do with them. Help would be mcuh appreciated.
SECOND EDIT:
I used TMPGEnc to create an mpg file of the DVD, but even when i try using that as opposed to the direct vob files, it gives me the option of demultiplexing it, so when i click on that, it says it cant open the file. whats the deal, why cant i demultiplex? (when i try to compile with the mpg without demultiplexing, it goes into the process for about a minute, then says its done when it hasnt created any files besides the ones in the temp folder.).
What the hell??
