  1. I'm in the market for a new DVD player. I have a few requirements, and a few things that I'd like, but aren't necessary. I'm having a hard time finding a player that meets my needs.

    Must have:
    Macrovision disableable
    CD-R, DVD-R (or +R) compatible
    Inexpensive
    VCD compatible
    Available in the U.S.
    Optical output

Nice to have, but not very important:
    SVCD, Divx, MPG4 compatible
    MP3 compatible
    JPG compatible

    Don't care at all about:
Region codes (as long as it plays region 1)

I know about hardware boxes to remove Macrovision, but I'm not interested in these. I'm looking for a player that doesn't have it, or is easy to disable it.

    Does anyone have any recommendations?
