  1. i can't seem to get avi files to convert to mpeg with TMPGEnc. it say can't open or unsupported i have looked for any and all down;oads for it and can't seem to find it anybody know what i'm doing wrong i used to use this program but not sure if something has changed,, or is there a better program out there to use, that will keep the sound in sinc with the movie

  3. i did some some looking and it seems the decoder i need is smpeg-4 version 3,,says gspot never heard of it or am i just lost

    There are at least...oh...10 flavors of DivX? divx, DX50, 3ivx, 4ivx, and 5ivx are all 'DivX'. There's more but I can't remember all of them off the top of my head.

    What is happening is the current 4cc of the AVI isn't registered to a decoder. Get the 4cc changer and try changing the AVI to divx/divx instead of what it currently is. This usually works for TMPGEnc problems.

    Try opening in Virtual Dub Mod and frame serve to TMPGEnc.
