  1. I dont have a clue as to what the hell is going on with this program... I've used it before and it worked fine. But After I wiped my HD and reinstalled windows I cant get it to work properly. I've updated windows and I've installed different versions of DVDshrink(3.0.5 beta, 3.12, and 3.14) but the same problem keeps happening...I'll load the program and it will function at first, but after awhile when I go to start it up again the .exe doesn't respond. At first I thougth that maybe it was the shortcut on the desktop, but the I would go strtaight to the executable and get the same thing. WTF is going on?!?!? I love this program but this is making me nuts.

    Somebody please help?

Sounds like a 'lost app'. What operating system? And what do you mean by going back to it? I usually close it after each backup. What you need to do is see if it actually closed. A 'Lost App' is a program that's still running, but doesn't show up on your toolbar. It's taking up resources. I'm not sure how many times you can open Shrink 3.14.

Bittorrent and Netscape clients are notorious for this, you 'close' them but in fact they get minimized but the tool bar won't show them. This also happens when your desktop crashes. Are you getting desktop refreshes? That indicates your OS is crashing.

  3. I am having the same problem. I am still able to use DVD Shrink 3.0 beta 5 and it works fine. I have tried all new versions and it never starts. I have tried uninstalling versions and 3.0 beta 5 is the only one that works.

  5. Try what Paj suggested and use the older version because it doesn't require the installation itself. Just copy the exe to your desktop and run from there. Also you might want to completely uninstall the latest version of Shrink if it is on your system.

  7. Hi all.

An identical problem was reported by a couple of DVD Shrink users and the culprit was a virus.
I'm not saying it is the case for you, but I'd strongly suggest you run an up-to-date anti-virus and check.
