Hi. I have 2 480X480 SVCD mpgs which I first tried to convert to dvd compliant mpgs with SVCD2MPG. However, when I tried to author the created files with TmpgEnc DVD Author there was some error message how the files were invalid.

I then tried to encode the original 480X480 mpgs with TmpgEnc Plus, making each fill 49% of the capacity of dvd so that I could author them later and have them fit to capacity. I then authored the files together in TmpgEnc Dvd Author. However, about 35 minutes into playback, the video froze with no sound and then, I needed to fast-forward about 9 minutes where the video continues.

On the original SVCD mpgs, it does plays normally through that part. I even burned them with Nero as a SVCD and it played normally through that section off of the CD-RW.

Can anyone please suggest why this video freeze and sound loss would happen after converting the SVCD mpg to a DVD compliant mpg with TmpgEnc Plus? I thought about bad frames but I could not open the SVCD mpg in VirtualDub or VirtualDub mpg.

Would it make a difference if I tried to rip the file off the CD-RW with Isobuster and then tried SVCD2MPG again?

Thanks
