Converting Part of a DVD

Is is possible to select part of a DVD and convert it to avi format? I am interested in converting a 5 minute segment of a DVD about 40 minutes into the movie and converting it without going through the process of converting the whole 2 1/2 DVD. Can this be done and could someone recommend the easiet way to do this. Thanks

Is this for ripping part of a DVD or cutting an AVI file? I'm interested in finding out jow to ripping a small part of a DVD.

When someone gives you a link for an app to do the job you need to do you should actually click on the link to see what it will do and even if there isnt a link do a search for the app that was mentioned.
