  1. IF I use TMPGENC to DeMUX an MPEG file into an .m1v and .mp2 file, is it then possible to 'edit' the .mp2 sound file to correct an audio sync problem?

The MPEG file I have has the video about 500ms ahead of the audio, so i want to edit the .mp2 to make it play 500ms sooner and ReMUX it with the .m1v file, is this possible, and does it make sense what I'm trying to do?

I know I've posted this question before, but the answers we're not too helpful, so I'm now trying a different approach!

Multiplex with bbMPEG. At the output setting tab you can define the video or audio startup delay. Let me know, whether it works. I never did that myself

  3. I do it all the time - it works fine with BBMPeg. The key thing to remember is that you can't see about 40 milliseconds of mis-sync (I've heard people say 80-100, but I did some tests, and I can usually see 40-50).

  4. yeah, what he said.

simple demux w/tmpgenc, mux with bbmpeg.

  5. Thanks Truman (and the rest of you guys)!

ReMuxing through BBMPG corrected the sync!

I set the Video delay to 500ms and the Audio to 0, saved a new MPG file and the audio is now in sync with the video!

    I've learned something Thanks again!

  6. ...unfortunately it doesn't work with all MPEG's I've found out

Tried the same procedure with another MPEG-1 file to correct a similar audio sync problem, this time the resulting MPEG plays the video but no audio? Media players seek bar will not play the clip I slide it to and resets to the beginning?

If I use MPEG Properties V1.0 to see the info fro the MPEG, it does not show anything for the Audio info whereas the first file I did does show the Audio info? I am now very confused!

Is this a BBMPG problem or a file format problem?
