DVD Player will play DVD+RW but not DVD+R

I can burn a dvd to a dvd+rw and it will play great on my JVC standalone dvd player. However if I burn the same video to a dvd+r it will not work on the JVC standalone (but will on my computer and crappy apex dvd player). Does anyone have a solution to this?

Might be the media your using for the +R since your player can play +RW I believe it should also handle +R. I have the JVC XV-n50BK model and it handles both -R -RW +R and +RW with out a problem. I use Memorex 4x+R, TDK 4x +RW, and Ritek 4x -R and all work fine in my JVC.
