  1. I have a dvd which has been compiled from a vhs film and has considerable background hiss.

Due to being an idiot I have not kept the original camcorder tape from which the dvd has been made.

So is it possible to remove the hiss from vob files then re burn the dvd.

Any help would be greatly welcomed

  2. Copy the vodb files to the HD.

De-multiplex the audio and video into spereate streams.

OPen the audio stream in an audio editor (goldwave is good).

    Apply de-hiss filter.

    save as wav.

re-encode audio to whatever format it was in before (mp2, Ac3 etc).

    Re-author and burn.
