    can someone please tell me if there is a freeware program which will allow me to take the audio from a vcd and convert it into mp3 format, and the process of how exactly i would do this??

    Demultiplex with TMPG-> http://www.vcdhelp.com/bbmpegedit.htm
    Decompress the .mp2 to .wav (TMPG >file> output to file> WAV file)
    Install LAME, open TMPG and go to option> enviromental setting> external tool. Check layer-3, browse lame.exe. Select "audio only" and configure the audio output.
