Written in pigeon English which is the first give away (do you think that should say indicted rather than indicated), the ip address quoted is from Taiwan so obviously is not my ip address (explains the pigeon English), and why would the FBI send a warning like this to a UK user. Oh well, I bet its put the willies up a few people though.

no , i ain't had it. but it sure gives me an idea to wind up one of my mates in work if i could only figure out how to send it to him without him knowing it was me
-
How computer savy is he, because you can easily change the displayed user name for the email account. If he opens the message up fully though it will still show the email address. Although I think you can change what email address is displayed also, don't know how though.
-
Oh, I think i can get away with changing display name, atleast it'll shit him up for a few minutes
Am i right in thinking i just create a new account in outlook express with a false name, yeh? -
Jesus, i didn't even know you could see my email.
mod' thing eh? -
Yes, we are all powerfull you know

The real kicker is that the FBI has no jurisdiction over in England, at least not with cooperation with the British government!!!
Not to mention even if it WAS possible to get all your computer files so easily, that is illegal search and seizure."A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct."

I got one of them emails, it was such a bad fake that anyone would think a child was responsible for it. Hotmail's junk mail filter picked it up and trashed it so I can't get to the attachment. What was it, a virus? -
Yes NAV automatically quarantined the attachment which had the W32.sober.C@mm virus.
This was contained in the so called reference code referred to in the text. -
Much simpler than that. In outlook click on tools then accounts. Select your account and click on properties. Then under user information change the name. Just remember to change it back when you have finished with your high jinx

Pacmania,
Is that program free/trialware,
just done a quick search for it and got no real results.
any idea where i can get hold of it? -
-
Thank you Mr Tucker,
Yuo must have a better search engine than me eh! -
Just entered hidden sender into google and it was the first hit.
-
It's also useful for use in flooding spammer's inboxes. I might do it now actually to that email address on the email.

sorry craig just done another search without program called and got it,
my apologies -
Well the email address a_supprimer_marielou_194@libero.it just got 1749 emails telling them they should learn english and some computer skills before they try and fool people with their crap.

One of my favourite tricks to do to a friend is send them thousands of emails each with an attachment of about 100kb. Floods their email and stops real email coming in.
