The dvd-r's are on sale for the same price also, so I picked up a spindle today. The only kind of identification I can pull off the disc is:

Manufacturer ID: TDKG02000000 - which doesn't really tell me anything other than they are TDK discs - or does the G0200... mean anything? I burned a couple and they worked fine, and for this price I'd like to pick up a few more, but I'm a little hesitant to do so without knowing who the actual manufacturer is. Can anyone identify this code?

    Thanks,

    Roy

Thanks for the info - I didn't think TDK manufactured their own discs, I though they were all rebranded discs from other manufacturers (such as those mentioned above).

One guestion - what do you mean by "official case"?

    Thanks,

    Roy

By using them, I was able to pick up the only 25pack of non-CMC packs in my local Best Buy.

  7. MRO, Thank you so much for all your investigating! It's been imposable until now to be able to identify this media. This is going to make DVD shopping a whole lot less stressful for me!

Well, I am not out looking for the RICOH because they don't burn as well in my LitoOn 811s as the Verbatim Datalife Plus DVD+R 4x (will burn at 8x) made in Singaporr. Check out some of these...they are $34 for a 15 pack at Office Depot.

Been through about half my 25 pack of CMC TDK's DVD+R, first half burned fine at 4X, now the secong half has stared to give me some coasters. Trying to burn them at only 2.4 X now.

  10. Burned 18 of my 25 CMC's so far no coasters, anyone else writing these at 8x? mine start at 4x then towards the middle they hit 8x

  11. The different in the plastic ring also apply to Memorex. It is a very good observation but it is impossible to tell in the Memorex case because Memorex spindles are covered with the warning of firmware upgrade in the top.
