  1. I have an Epson 960 and it prints on DVD labels perfectly. However, when I tried printing on a white printable DVD (purchased via Ebay, no idea what the brand is), it didn't turn out nearly as well. The colors all were dull and the top portion of my DVD (which is all black) contained lot of little white dots lining the top, ink droplets perhaps? It[s similar to when you run a wet bar of soap along a shower wall (only much smaller). Also, it's been drying for over 30 hours, yet is still wet! Is it the type of printable DVD I'm using perhaps? What's the best type of DVD-R to print to (hopefully not too expensive) I need to solve this problem quiclky. Many thanks!

One more question, are there any "printable DVDs" that have a paper type surface (like a label) because that worked perfectly for me (though I know labels are looked down upon, hence my question). Thanks again!

  2. There is a difference in "printable DVD's" and "Inkjet printable DVD's" and it sounds like you bought the printable type (used for thermal printers).

I use these printable DVD-R discs with my Epson 900 printer FYI. http://store.yahoo.com/yesbuy/prinwhitinpr.html

  3. *smacks self* You know, that what I probably did. Thanks! Question though, how well is the image quality and also, how long did it take to dry? Thanks again.

  4. The image quality out of my Epson 900 is awesome and it is dry almost as fast as it comes out of the printer. One trick to get the image quality up is when you go to print select "photo quality paper" not the default or "CD/DVD".

Used to use them settings myself and then for some reason its now laying down too much ink and the disks wont dry properly. Gone back to Cd/Dvd +1 and all is OK again. Odd thing is i havent changed ink carts and the disks havent changed either (middle of a batch)... This is also the same for cd disks as well..Weird or what.
    Not bothered by small problems...
