Authoring with Tmpgenc dvd menu system

Hope this is in the right section this time........

Guys i have looked around at the guides and various other places but cant quite find help for what i`m trying to do

Simple authoring using Tmpgenc is fine but what i want to do is add Extras and scene selection to the film

i have created the scenes from the film no probs and have imported the extras that i want to include again no probs

its here on in i`m struggling , in the source setup do i need 2 or 3 tracks
1 for the main film
2 for the extras
3 for the scenes
this is how i have it but maybe thats wrong

its how to set the menu system to be able to select from a first page thats getting me confused

if i give an outline perhaps someone can advise

1 initial front screen with 3 options on
2 No 1 option Play movie
3 No 2 option select scenes from film
4 No 3 option Select Extras page
all pages to have return options to first screen

i haven't seen anthing in TMPGenc for extras, but try setting up chapters and add a track menu under the main menu for scene selections. other then that, it looks like TMPGenc is limited for menu creation.

i eventuallly setled for a copromise , i didnt get exactly what i wanted but it still works , heres what i did

in source setup i imported the main film as a track and then created another track for the extras i wanted to include , then i created scenes from the main film , then i went to edit menu theme and selected the theme with the three book type things stood up , the left hand window now shows 3 menu items , main menu , track 1 menu and track 2 menu , track one menu when clicked shows the scenes i had created and a play button , bottom right , so i changed that to a picture of the main film , when clicked it acts the same as the play button and plays the main film , track 2 when clicked shows the extras i imported and apart from a bit of txt here and there can be left alone , in the menu display settings i selected automatic settings in the general tab and use motion menu under motion menu tab , the other settings i used there were the top two track thumbnail and chapter thumbnail , they work realy well and because i have about 14 scenes and also 14 extras when they are displayed on a single page they look great ,

so i started wanting a three option front screen but ended with just the two , however all i did was rename the top picture in main menu right hand panel as scene and main film selection and the bottom picture as extras

my advice to anyone using Tmpgenc is get the project close to finish and then burn it and try it coz its damn hard to figure out what and how its all gona work just from your monitor

now all i gota figure out is setting audio to the menu`s i know i have seen a piece here somewhere about it just gota find it
