    Is there any device that will sample the VHS or SVHS tape to an internal HD, run filters on that data and burn it to a CD or DVD in DVD or VCD format automatically? Am i asking for too much?

    If so, or something similar to this exists, could you please provide links to it. Also, if so, does it do a good job?

    Yes, I believe the device you are referring to is called a user, and like most things, some are better than others.
