A buddy was using Final Cut Pro on Macintosh and wanted to import some photoshop files that were on a remote Windows PC. So, with both computers on a network, in Finder of Mac OS X 10.2 (or better) he used the "Connect to Server" menu selection and filled in the necessary share-name/user/password info and an drive icon showed up on the desktop.
On the other hand, I suppose any Windows 2000 or XP machine could connect to the Mac using the Mac's IP address instead of a name.

Hey. Thanks for the reply anyway.
Do you know more about Mac-to-Windows file sharing access than what I already posted here.
I wonder if Mac OS X can change security permissions and the owner/user of files and folders of the remote Windows system? U-know, just like a Windows XP client can change these when connected to a Windows XP file sharing server.
Samba 3.x series SMB/CIFS file sharing software talks about doing some fancy Windows 2000/XP-like functions.
What do you think?

This is the only app that is worth persuing on this part. Its by far the best Mac to PC filesharing one out there.
Been a while since I have done this, but I used it almost exclusively to get into my Undergrad Netowrk, which was nothing but a PC campus and me and my Mac in the dorm
