  1. Hello,

I am having some problems here with Adobe Encore. I was wondering if any one has had the same problem and knows how to fix it.

I create all of my videos in Adobe Premiere Pro. This program allows you to create titles with either still, rolling or crawling text. Once they are created they can be placed in the timeline. I normally use the default timeline which has 3 video tracks and 3 audio tracks. Once I have created my movie render it and export it to a selected folder as an .avi file. I watch it and it plays exactly like i made it.

Now I use Adobe Encore to create menus. I import the movie as an asset and link it to a button. I then select preview to check to see if all the links are set correctly. However, for some reason some of the titles that i had created in premiere don't play like they should. some will only flicker. If the tittle was set for a duration of 7 seconds, some will only show for like 0.1 of a second and the screen is black for the next 6.9 seconds. You can't even see what it says. this only happens when i preview the movie in Encore and also this is exactly how the DVD comes out. I have tried moving the titles around to different video tracks in Premiere and re-rendering the video which is time consuming. Some times this will fix it. It seems asthough title video can not be on the same video track as the raw captured video. Not all titles flicker though. Some are good and fucntion just like i created them. i dont' get it.

As i mentioned before, when i just play the video in Windows Media Player if fucntions normally, exactly how i created it.

Does anyone know why this may be happening? It is starting to drive me crazy. Anyone who knows Premiere knows that you can spend hours screwing around with titles and when they don't work it is very frustrating. Any information on how to correct this problem would be wonderful. my intuition tells me that the problem is with Premiere however i am really not sure.

    thanks for your time,

I'd also be converting the video streams to MPEG-2 in something like TMPGEnc before importing into Encore. It could be issues with the output mode in Premiere. And no, the MPEG encoder built into Premiere isn't very good.

And yet it causes problems when importing the MPEG streams it creates into Encore. I also don't see nearly the encoding options on the Main Concept encoder as I do in TMPGEnc, not that I have any clue what to do with them all

  8. I've heard of the same problem when using Premiere generated file in DVD Workshop as well.

  9. I use both Premiere Pro and Encore for DVD design and I've NEVER had problems with titles in over 70+ complete videos.

Nor have I ever had any issues with Encore not accepting Premiere's mpg2 files.

Why mess around with creating .avi's in Premiere anyway if you are going to DVD?

  10. Thanks for all the input everyone. it has helped however i am now having a problem with the audio. I export my movies from Premiere in
MPEG-DVD format and import them into Encore and now there seems to be no problems with titlles. however, i have no audio. I have tried PCM, MPEG and 5.1 audio coding and still have had no luck. any ideas on what the problem may be.
    any input would be great.
    thanks for your time.

  11. What are you using to play the file? Is there audio when you play it in windows media player? Are you sure the file is muxed, and that you aren't just playing the video part by itself?
