I use VirtualDub to convert a DVD to an avi file. Upon resizing the video, it has a provision for cropping. Some movies have a small amount of black area on either side of the screen. If I crop that out, the movie plays back without those black areas on the sides, except now the movie changes physically. The faces, or actually everything, might be thinner (or longer) and it's not the same as the original movie. How do you keep everything in proportion to the original movie and still be able to crop out those black areas on the sides of the screen. Somehow I think it has to do with the figures I'm using when I resize - i.e., 480x640 for the width and height. If anybody has any input on this I'd surely appreciate it. [/b]
