  1. I used smartripper to rip a DVD. Then I ran it thru dvd2avi to generate an a .d2v file and a .wav file. I ran this .d2v thru vfapiconv_en to get a .avi file. Now I opened the .avi and .wav file in virtualdub and extracted two 5 minute clips with audio sync. Lets call it song1.avi and song2.avi
Now I went ahead and created a 3d transition using ulead video studio 5. I save this transition as a DVD file, say trans12.mpg. This file I ran it thru DVD2avi -> vfapiconv_en to get an avi file. The wav files in song1.avi and song2.avi are 2ch 448 kbps 44.1 khz. To have virtualdb join these files I need a silent wav file for the duration of the transition. How can I generate such a wav file ? or, where can I get one ? And, will virtual dub indeed join them ?

    Please give me feedback

  2. About every soundeditor can create silence (ie Cooledit).

  3. You can create a blank wave file if you like but if you got the time also try finding a blank spot in one of the two songs (1 and 2). Use the dead spots in those songs to create your transition. You may like it better since the silence (which as dumb as this sounds) sounds more like the silence from the songs.

  4. Thanks for your replies. Now I do have a silent wav file. I later found out that the windows start -> program -> accesories -> multimedia -> sound recorder had the option of recording sound in any format I chose.

Now I have another problem. After I join song1.avi and trans12.avi and song2.avi using virtual dub, somewhere after the transition is played, song2 is never played, but the transition keeps looping through out where song2 should have been, but playing hte sound track of song2. Is there anythign I am doing wrong ?
